IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is a standardized test that measures English language proficiency. It is important for individuals who wish to study, work, or migrate to countries where English is the primary language. Many universities and employers require a specific IELTS score as part of their admission or hiring process.
There are two main types of IELTS tests: IELTS Academic and IELTS General Training. The Academic test is for those applying to higher education institutions, while the General Training test is for those seeking work experience, training programs, or immigration.
The IELTS test lasts approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes and consists of four sections: Listening (30 minutes), Reading (60 minutes), Writing (60 minutes), and Speaking (11-14 minutes). The Listening, Reading, and Writing sections are completed on the same day, while the Speaking section may be scheduled on a different day.
Progress can be measured through periodic practice tests, feedback from your coach, and tracking improvements in specific skills (Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking). Regular assessments help identify areas requiring additional focus.
